Walk and Talk Therapy
Walk and talk therapy is a unique opportunity to combine the benefits of light physical activity, psychotherapy and the benefits of spending time in nature.
Locations
All of our walk and talk sessions are delivered in public parks in areas which are flat, paved and as accessible as possible. Due to Scottish weather, we cannot guarantee that walk and talk sessions will be able to take place, however traditional indoor sessions will be offered if this the case.
All walk and talk therapy begins with a session in one of our therapy rooms where a risk assessment is carried out and your goals are discussed. Over the course of therapy, sessions are held within the therapy room to ensure that therapy is on track and helping you to meet your goals.
Sessions last for 90 mins and include regular rest stops.
The cost of each session is £60. Reduced rates may be available for NHS staff and young adults aged 16 to 30. Please contact us to discuss.

Facts about walking
How does walking affect your mental health?
Walking helps boost your mood because it increases blood flow and blood circulation to the brain and body.
It has a positive influence on your hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, which is your central nervous response system.
This is good because the HPA axis is responsible for your stress response.
When you exercise by walking, you calm your nerves, which can make you feel less stressed.
You can build on the positive effects of walking by inviting friends to join you.
Walking with others for one or two days per week can have enormous benefits.
Physical exercise combined with positive social interactions can improve negative moods, ward off depression, and improve self-esteem.
